Roy & Elzaan

Our first wedding for 2010 was a real gem. Stunning couple, one of our favorite venues as well as one of the best video teams in SA! It always feels like home when we shoot a wedding at Diamond Hill. Estelle & Ben you are such great people, thanks for always welcoming us like family. Bernadine & Leon of “The Video People”, what more can we say than we are always so happy when we find out that you are the video team for the day. It is always such a pleasure working with you! We also met some new friends; Charl & Chantel of Fame Weddings Disco. They had the party rolling in no time!

The wedding day started out as a very very hot day, but Elzaan kept her cool and handled her photo session like a pro. Rina of Catherine’s Collection made and designed Elzaan’s wedding gown and like always she did an amazing job! Elzaan you simply looked beautiful! Roy, you did quite well yourself!

We kind of had most of all the seasons in one day. It started out very hot, then changed into a thunderstorm with buckets pouring down just as Elzaan entered the church. We had some fun planning Roy & Elzaan’s exit as we could not go outside for this part of the wedding. We quickly made a plan and had all the guests form a row next to the isle and the petals came pouring down on the couple while they were walking down the isle again! It all cleared up after the ceremony and then we had the most beautiful clear skies to photograph the couple and it all ended in a stunning sunset.

Thanks to Theo & Elize, Elzaan’s parents, for making us feel so welcome with your hospitality.

Enjoy your honeymoon!!!

Looking forward to 2010

Hi all - It's back to business for us again.

We had a wonderful 2009.  We were privileged to meet so many special people who enriched our lives beyond all our expectations. We were also blessed with the recognition of our efforts in the Sony Profoto awards – 1 Silver & 3 Bronze awards. Fujifilm Professional Awards – 1 gold award (category winner) & a certificate for wildlife photography from the Getaway Magazine. To top it all 7 of our brides were finalists in the Beeld Bride of the Month competition.  We were also chuffed to be showcased on the "Don't Box us in" website - www.dontboxusin.com

We had a good rest in December and enjoyed shooting a wedding in Stellenbosch – the highlight of our holiday.
The picture below of our “baby” gives a good idea of how easy we took it on our holiday in Glentana, but our batteries are charged and we cannot wait to get going for 2010.

Thank you to all the bloggers, our customers and friends for your support in 2009. A big thank you must also go to our fellow photographers who never hesitated a minute to help us out with advice when we needed it.

Lastly but definitely not the least – we want to thank our Creator for blessing us without limits.

We wish you all the very best for 2010!!

Mathys & Carol

Our last wedding for the 2009 year was definitely also one of the highlights of our year. Mathys and Carol’s wedding was held at Kleine Zalse in Stellenbosch. We normally take a break in Glentana near Mosselbay during December, but simply jumped at the chance to shoot a wedding in Stellenbosch when they decided to make use of our services.

Kleine Zalse ( www.kleinezalze.com ) is one of those magical places where you can shoot images for a week and still not cover all the spots. A stunning couple, beautiful gardens, old oak trees, vineyards, wine cellars, majestic panoramic views with the mountains - a photographer’s dream. Then to top it all – the sun only sets at 19:45, something we’re not used to as the sun in Gauteng sets around 18:30. What more can one ask for? Mathys and Carol got married on the lawn next to the golf course and they simply looked stunning. They are a perfect fit – like a hand in a glove – clearly very, very much in love.

They gave us plenty of time to shoot their wedding. Before shooting at Kleine Zalze, we were all over the streets of Stellenbosch, and what a lot of fun we had. A quick visit to Jonkershoek before the wedding ceremony rounded our visit to Stellenbosch off.

Mathys, the youngest of his family with a gap of 15 years (yes fifteen years!), between him and his next sister, is such a super guy. I can understand why he caught Carol’s eye. But then again, Carol simply blew us away before our cameras. She is a natural. She has the same drive and determination as her parents – and what stunning people they are. Keep your eyes on the newspapers, you’re going to read about Mathys and Carol’s achievements .

To top it all – we got up at 04:30 Sunday morning to shoot images at the beach, but it was Freeeezzziiing!!!!! The Cape of Storms did it’s name justice, there was a strong wind, but we got some awesome images – definitely worth the effort, but we all needed some hot coffee to get the blood circulating again.

You must enjoy your honeymoon in Mozambique – I know the weather is warmer there!!!

Carol's hair and make-up was beatifully done by Ida Webster www.freewebs.com/idawebster and it was a pleasure to work with Eloise Pieterse from Kleine Zalze.
