Brisbane City Centre

 Hi All

I was down in Brisbane City Center yesterday and saw some interesting people - a lonely old sax player, Charlie Chaplin  and some others.  Take a look and tell me what you think.  These pictures are straight out of my Nikon and not edited - just love the Nikon!!!!

Natasha will upload again soon - she is still back in SA, but battling somewhat with the internet connection.

Cheers

Deon

Workshop - Olive Mystery

After our 2 previous very successful fun get togethers we arranged with other togs we got quite a lot of enquiries about presenting a workshop. This was never something that I even considered before as I am not really a person who can stand in front of a group of people and run a workshop. BUT to my amazement I found that I could talk about what I truly love and it just came naturally. Deon on the other hand is a natural speaking and communicating to people. He is never shy, talks to anybody (and I mean anybody!) and is probably one of the most likeable people I know. I am so glad that he is my husband as well as my partner in photography, because without him our photography recipe would and could not work.

We were so privilege to have an amazing group of togs joining us for our workshop. Lots of talent and eagerness to learn was the order of the day. Its times like these that I want to treasure and moments like this that I want to engrave deep in my memory.  With this in mind I want to thank my very special friend, Estelle van Loggerenberg (www.evlphoto.co.za) for all the behind the scene images of the workshop.

Obviously a workshop can’t happen without a venue, designer and models. When I contacted Anja & Charlene from Olive Mystery wedding venue and asked for a quote to have the workshop on their premises there was no hesitation from their side at all. 2 Stunning girls who have a passion for what they do with lots and lots of eagerness to help is a true testimonial of their approach to service. Thanks for the awesome lunch and the hospitality that you gave all of us.

Marlize of Immagika was yet again responsible for the absolutely gorgeous, stunning, beautiful and stylish dresses of the 2 single models. She is a true artist and has an eye for detail that is just out of this world. Lorraine of Papilion has to be thanked for the stunning pale blue dress of the bridal couple shoot. This lady also has oodles of talent as she is probably one of the best wedding coordinators in Gauteng!

The stunning models Angelique & Elraana was so gorgeous and such a pleasure to work with. Then a special thanks to JD & Heleen who was our couple models for the day. You guys rocked and we were so glad that you were able to play model for us for a 2nd time. The camera surely loves all of you as can be seen on all the images.  Also thanks to Anke for the stunning make-up of the girls.

The Big Move Down Under!

Yes it is true!!  We have been planning for some time to visit and work in Australia, and now the time for us to move is very near.  If all goes well our whole family should be settled down under by the end of 2010.  We decided in 2009 that we will only do weddings in South Africa until the end of April 2010.  We believe that we have been led by our heavenly father to make this decision, and as it is turning out, was the right decision to make at the time.  It was in no way an easy decision to make to tread this path but it is absolutely amazing to see how things fall in place for our planned relocation.

In the meantime we are honored to have been featured by Junebug Weddings ( http://junebugweddings.com/best-wedding-photographers/Australia.aspx ) as, in their opinion, one of the best photographers in Australia, and the world.  When we were contacted by Junebug's Weddings to be listed as one of the top South African photographers we were very excited and disappointed at the same time - because of our move to Australia, but when they heard we were on our way down under, we were delighted to have been told that they would accept us as an Australian member!  What can I say - to be featured along photographers like Jerry Ghionis, Yervant and Marcus Bell is a very humbing experience, as I have admired their work since I started with photography.

Thank you Junebugs for having faith in us.

Lovemydress.net

What a privilege to be showcased on Love My Dress - a UK based website showcasing inspirational weddings from all over the world.

The wedding showcased is the wedding of Tiaan and Elita, who got married at Chez Charlene on 17 April 2010.  Truly a fairytale event with all the girls of the bridal party being dressed by Marianne Fassler ( www.mariannefassler.co.za ), one of THE top designers in South Africa.
